I recently spoke with a lady who was interested in hiring a housecleaning service. She was concerned that she would not get a housecleaner who cared or would do a good job cleaning her home. Part of the reasoning for her worries was that people who do house cleaning for a living typically can't do anything else. As a professional cleaning technician for 7 years, that comment kind of jabbed at me. I decided that I needed to set the record straight about this misconception and tell the truth about housecleaners from my own experience and perspective.

 Many people who clean homes as a part or full time job have a college education. They are skilled at several other jobs or vocations besides house cleaning.
