The Truth About Housekeepers

I recently spoke with a lady who was interested in hiring a housecleaning service. She was concerned that she would not get a housecleaner who cared or would do a good job cleaning her home. Part of the reasoning for her worries was that people who do house cleaning for a living typically can't do anything else. As a professional cleaning technician for 7 years, that comment kind of jabbed at me. I decided that I needed to set the record straight about this misconception and tell the truth about housecleaners from my own experience and perspective.

Many people who clean homes as a part or full time job have a college education. They are skilled at several other jobs or vocations besides house cleaning. They have chosen to do this type of work for several different reasons. I can't speak for every cleaning lady, but here are some great reasons:

1. The Schedule. Mondays thru Fridays, no nights or weekends (some cleaning companies choose to work weekends).

2. Work/Life Balance - Many cleaning companies, like Bright at Home Cleaning, allow employees to work a specific schedule. There are accommodations for being off at a certain time for kids coming home from school, doctor appointments, etc. Cleaners who are also students can work specific days they do not have classes.

3. Pay - Most professional cleaning companies pay their employees fairly well, on an hourly basis. Besides regular hourly pay, most clients tip their housecleaners. Professional housecleaning companies like Bright at Home Cleaning have W-2 employees and are paid weekly.

4. Transit - Most cleaning companies have a service range, which keeps their employees from too much travel time and mileage.

Why a person chooses to be a housecleaner is often a reflection of their temperament and personality. Believe it or not, this type likes to serve people and make them happy by doing something that brings them comfort and joy. They take personal pride and satisfaction in a job well done. They like to move around and be active, roll up their sleeves and "get 'er done. They approach a difficult situation with an "I've got this!" attitude. They make friends with their clients and their children, give their dogs belly rubs, and protect your home like it's their own.

If you are thinking about hiring a professional cleaning company that  will care and do a great job taking care of your home, please consider contacting Bright at Home Cleaning.  "We Brighten Your Home and Free Up Your Time!"
